What is Chekket?

Chekket is a computer vision company that transforms live and recorded sports footage into real-time performance metrics.

We work with sports teams, broadcasters, and streaming platforms to extract meaningful insights from video using sport-specific AI models.

The Team

  • Founder and CEO

    JJ has been around baseball his whole life and played at a high competitive level. After becoming a washed up player he ended up being an even better baseball instructor. As a college student he was instructing professional and highly recruited baseball players. Then later started coaching a travel baseball team during that time as well.

    He later worked for the Oakland Athletics front office. Building website wireframes / mockups to help the UI/UX flow and built online educational tools to help with online ticketing and improving the user experience.

    During the covid pandemic he got really into product development and learning / working with data. Which lead him to his current role working for Dotdash Meredith as a Data Analytics Engineer.

  • Founder and CTO

    Will is a computer vision wizard! He is a dedicated tech leader currently serving as the CTO of Chekket, bringing a blend of academic research and industry experience to the team.

    For his master's thesis, he co-developed a novel assistive biking system for the low-visioned. Specifically, he worked on using machine learning and computer vision techniques for the task of road following. The system developed was further challenged by using mobile vision deployed on an Android phone platform.

    Currently, he is on the security operations team at Cisco Meraki, he leverages his skills in Python, CI/CD, and AWS to develop and maintain security infrastructure and automate routine tasks. This role provides him with an understanding of secure software development and CI/CD practices.
