Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 28, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to Chekket ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). We operate the Chekket website and the FastpitchAI mobile application (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Services. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this policy, please do not access the Services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

2.1 Information Currently Collected

During the current Alpha phase, we collect:

  • Name: First and last name provided when signing up or submitting a form.
  • Email Address: Used for account identification, communications, and support.
  • Form Submissions: Any information you voluntarily provide through waitlist sign-ups, feedback forms, or surveys (e.g., sport, position, experience level).

2.2 Information Collected When Using App Features

As our Services expand, the following data will be collected when you use in-app features:

  • Video Recordings: Video content you upload or record through our app for sports performance analysis.
  • Skeletal Tracking Data: Body pose landmarks, joint positions, and skeletal tracking points derived from your videos using on-device computer vision (MediaPipe).
  • Biomechanical Metrics: Joint angles, angular velocities, kinematic sequence data, and other performance metrics calculated from your skeletal data.
  • Performance Scores: AI-generated assessments, phase detection results, and comparative analytics.

2.3 Automatically Collected Data

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
  • Usage Data: Features used, pages visited, session duration, and interaction patterns.
  • Log Data: IP address, browser type, access timestamps, and referring URLs.

3. How We Process Video and Biomechanical Data

Our core technology uses computer vision and machine learning to analyze sports biomechanics. Here is how that data is handled:

  • On-Device Processing: Where possible, video analysis and pose estimation are performed directly on your device using MediaPipe. This means your raw video data often does not need to leave your phone.
  • Cloud Processing: Some advanced analyses may require cloud-based processing. In these cases, data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
  • Derived Data: The skeletal tracking points, joint angles, and performance metrics we generate are numerical data derived from your video — they are not the video itself.
  • AI Model Improvement: We may use anonymized and aggregated biomechanical data to improve our AI models. This data is stripped of all personally identifiable information before use. You may opt out of this usage by contacting us.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, and maintain our Services, including biomechanical analysis and performance insights.
  • To create and manage your user account.
  • To process and respond to your inquiries and support requests.
  • To improve and personalize your experience with the Services.
  • To improve the accuracy of our computer vision models using anonymized data.
  • To send you updates, marketing communications, and information about new features (with your consent; you may opt out at any time).
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or security concerns.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract Performance: Processing necessary to provide the Services you requested.
  • Consent: Where you have given explicit consent (e.g., for marketing communications or video analysis).
  • Legitimate Interests: To improve our Services and ensure security, where such interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal Obligation: Where processing is required to comply with applicable law.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in these limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist in operating our Services (e.g., cloud hosting via Google Cloud Platform / Firebase, analytics providers). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.
  • With Your Consent: We may share data with third parties when you give us explicit permission.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes. Anonymized and aggregated data used for model improvement is retained indefinitely.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest.
  • On-device processing to minimize data transmission when possible.
  • Access controls and authentication for internal systems.
  • Regular security reviews and updates.

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Our Services may be used by athletes under the age of 13. We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If a user is under 13 years of age:

  • A parent or legal guardian must provide verifiable consent before the child's data is collected.
  • We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the Services.
  • Parents may review, delete, or refuse further collection of their child's data by contacting us at info@chekket.com.

If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer data to the United States and process it there. Your consent to this privacy policy followed by your use of the Services represents your agreement to that transfer.
